WHAT'S BETTER

Good question, Ranger! I think a kickstart system, because of its lighter weight (including saving the weight of the associated battery, wiring and connectors) and simplicity, might be favored over an electrical starting system in an all-out sport or competition quad.
Certainly, when drag-racing motorcycles in my misspent youth, where every micro-ounce counted, this strategy prevailed.

ummmm yeah Tree Farmer, like that almost matters when it is everday riding that we are talking about, some ppl may think you are the knowledge king, but that remark was just unappropriate and uneeded. you could have probably left my name out of it. thanks

I would have to agree with the posts above. A kick starter is much better because it is lighter, it has less complecations, and if the batteries go dead they are a real pain to compression start every time. I was just riding with a guy and it was cold out so he couldn't get his 400EX started so he had his friend that he came up with compresion start it every time.

RangerSX- I have read Tree Farmers post over and over and fail to see anything that you could find offensive in anything he said.
I have also noticed a similar pattern in your responses in other areas in this forum.
Whats up?
I fail to see how your second post adds any value to this thread.
Chill out... Or go post your childish responses elsewhere........

Ranger,
Why do you insist on starting these fights? I have seen you slam many people even after they have just answered your question (myself included). You asked about SPORT quads, which may at some point see a track. TF merely gave you a reason why a kickstarter on a Sport quad would be to your advantage. Soo, If you dont want peoples opinions DONT ASK!

I agree with rooster, what ever it comes with is good. I perfer electric on the trail and hills but i wouldn't want it if i raced.

NO see i didnt start a arguement, you and others just take it the worng way, i felt offended by his reply, all i wanted was a simple real answer, but i still believe that electric start is much nicer when everday riding is taking place, not on the track, thanks TF, but next time could you just leave my name out of it, sorry but thanks
