my friend has a honda 400 ex with a big bore 440 kit and a stage 2 hotcam plus he runs a 12.5 compression piston and will not come even close to my yfz however, i believe at top speed he might be a little faster but nothing drastic and also the 400s have a bigger front sprocket than the 450s or at least my yfz but at most i believe he could run 78-80 and mine tops out 74-76 with stock gearing but that is probably the most efficient for a drag i might be able to go up to a 15 tooth sprocket but i have yet to find one

I'm really glad for you... I was going to suggest the Z400 although I own a 400EX.

They are not really the same class by far anymore.

So which way to go now is pretty clear depending on what you want...
Brutal simplicity... Or high tech headaches...

I have acquired respect for both...
I have to have since I have a 400EX, liquid cooled 2 stroke, and a liquid cooled fuel injected 450R.

I prefer the technology over the simplicity.... until it breaks... lol...

I really liked the '09 Z400 when I was looking, and it might have even been the best choice for me... but I got the leftover 450R for $1,600 less. Couldn't pass that up.

Even Reconranger here, who is a Honda guy says the same thing......

Yet as you point out, every magazine says different.......dunno its odd....
I think the ergos are OK on the Raptor.
The ride height is just too high.
Some shock work would fix that right up and get it real close though.

WHAT IS BACK-PEDDLING? (as defined by Yahoo! answers)

It means to try to reverse direction in a metaphorical sense. It is often used to describe someone who says something and then tries to take it back. Politicians are often accused of back peddling when they say something controversial. The metaphor comes from riding a bicycle. If you try to make it go in reverse you can peddle backwards, but on most bikes the gears just spin futilely. Which is the same result as trying to unsay something you've already said. It is futile.

You said your bike "clocked out at 110mph", and even reaffirmed it by claiming it was checked by a cop for you. As was said in congress recently, "YOU LIE!!!"
