what are the top speeds on these? My friend says his goes ATLEAST 80mph, and i call major bs.. he said he got it clocked at 50 in 3rd gear

 

Faster than a Warrior, slower than a 400EX. 50's is in the ballpark.

 

Your friend needs to stop smoking whatever it is that is rotting his brain, it would take a modded Banshee or Quadzilla to go 80 or better, the best I ever clocked my son's 300ex,with a pipe, filter,rejetted,and aftermarket cdi was 54 mph on flat ground,maybe even a slight downhill. it would take engine work and regearing to break 65.

 

like 180mph.

 

So I guess my Mojave will go 90mph..lol..no but around 50 sounds right..

 

funny I thought the same thing for my 400ex. I thought wound out in 5th I must have been running 70+MPH. Had a buddy follow me in his truck one dumb day. Seams like 50MPH on a quad feels like your doing 100. Needless to say that cost me a case of beer.

 

I thought a 400ex would go 70...guess I was wrong. I've had my mojave 54 mph according to my friends gps. We checked it twice....and thats with it bouncing off the rev limiter..lol. The way it was screaming you'd think I was going 100mph

 

My '08 400EX was topped out on the limiter at 63. My '08 700xx was topped out on the limiter at 79. Both were recorded by GPS. Some have clocked the xx over 83, but I have not personally seen it.

 

The 300ex will do around the 50's mph. My DS650 will hit about 80, I had it clocked at 81 on a flat surface once.
