Go with the Raptor. Other than the fast that raptors are better in all ways pretty much, chances are, the 400EX wont be around another 2-3 years.

No I dont work for Honda, you freaking moron.

-Chances are the 400EX will NOT be around in a few years becuase, not only have many ATV magazines stated that, but it is obvious, the 400 is the smallest of the high perf. quads out right now, so its only a matter of time until Honda takes control again.

well i think that the 400 well be around for along time because the raptor and cannondals are way more money and not all the people that ride want that kind of speed and power and those bikes dont do as well in the mud when there all stock and like i said before all the people that i know want the 400 over all the rest so think what you want ok peace out ride hard

I couldn't tell you which one to buy, I've never really had enough time to ride my friends Raptor but the 400EX is a kick in the seat to ride and as for the Cannondale I've never riden it at all, I hear its fast but I wouldn't buy it just because it's made in the USA.

Here's a thought would people buy an ATV if HARLEY DAVIDSON made one ? Or would people stay away due to the fact that it's 60 year old technoligy isn't up to snuff with that of the Jap ATV's? I wouldn't take anything away from the Jap machines, the US has a lot to learn from
YAMAHA-HONDA-SUZUKI-KAWASAKI when it comes to ATV'S and Motorcycles.
I will admit that Cannondale is on it's way, but I don't think it's there yet!

Well, I thought I would tell yall what I think about how long the 400ex will be around. Okay, not many people will buy a 400ex when the Z is one step ahead in just about all catagories and selling for the same price. Now, Honda COULD lower the MSRP but then it would be to close to the 300ex's price, which would cause them to lower the 300's price which would cause them to have to lower the 250ex's price. I don't think they would be willing to drop the price of 3 quads just to make the 400ex competitive in the "money market". But if they did lower the price, the MSRP would be close to a Warrior which would take away sales from Yamaha (but thats a whole different story). I seriously wouldn't doubt that the 400ex ends up getting discontinued and replaced w/ another 400cc class machine (we can all hope it's the CRF 450 but that seems unlikely as well). They might just end up makin a 650ex and hoping that it will make up for sales lost, but I bet Honda will resort back to a 400cc class quad sooner or later. Another option that they are likely to take is improving the 400ex to have more power and maybe shedding some weight.

One thing is for sure, if the 400ex does stick around for a while longer, it won't be the same 400ex thats on the floor today.

CAUTION!: Watch out for a 400ex w/ slightly more power and different plastics and labeled as an ALL NEW SPORTRAX.

HUH???!!! So in other words you don't think just because it's made in America that the quality isn't there?? That's a pretty narrow minded point of view don't you think!!

You also said:

HUH???!!! Who's making a quad now with an aluminum frame and EFI, gee, I guess just Cannondale!! So who has what to learn from whom?? I think you've got your facts backwards, when it comes to quads, Cannondale leads the pack by a wide margin when it comes to technology and innovative features! And without a doubt, they have the best customer service of any of the manufacturers, just ask the people who own one!

Is he saying 'don't buy it because of american quality' OR 'don't buy it JUST BECAUSE it's made in america'

Benefit of the doubt

Hey bluekawirider, Team Green is set to come out (I heard) with their version of the Z400 later this summer. A collaboration effort only in the lime green plastic.
