What kind of chance do I have?

In the straights... LOL... you wouldn't have a chance in hell of keeping up with him. You can add a pipe, cam, bore, and higher revs and you still won't keep up with him... sorry dude, but the CR250 dirtbike is much faster than a 400cc detuned dirtbike motored quad.
Up hills... you'll prolly still get burned unless he isn't a good hillclimber and you are.

Apples to oranges man. This is a debate that rages all of the time. Under normal circumstances, dirtbikes will walk away from quads. Sure there are situations where quads are superior, but in drag racing, trail riding, harescrambles, and most other types of riding, a 250MX bike (or even a 125) will walk away from quads. A CR250 weighs about 230 ready to ride and has about 50 HP at the crank. That's close to 200 lbs less than your Z with 10 more HP. But don't let it bother you, your quad does stack up well when compared to other quads and that is what matters, isn't it? I see you live in Manitoba, challenge him to some riding in the winter with stock tires (no studs) and see who wins then.

Damn, this town is full of dirt bikes. Oh well, I'll still have fun playing with them. I have the only sport quad that I know of in this town, one guy might be buying a banshee, maybe. I'll try and get other people to buy sport quads so I can have more people to ride with. I plan to add exhaust and rejet it next summer and maybe other mods. I sure hope I can beat the 125's here though, lots of the kids have those. It will be embarassing to be smoked by a 125.
I would like to see a dyno chart of a CR250 or some other dirt bike 2 strokes graphs.
