Yeah? my first post said i think it was around like 78 but it was really 77.7? Ask any perfomance shop how fast it goes and they will tell you, as matter of fact go to bansheehq.com and ask. Oh and read this arcticle from dirt wheels issue jan. 2003 for the best acceleration and drag race winner, " While there was some debate about how the power came on, there was disputing that the banshee has the best kick in the pants horsepower of the bunch. For pure sand slinging acceleration it was rated the top-dog in our comparison." So honestly i dont care if you dont believe me but call and see the banshee tops out at 77.7 and this is straight from ATV action.

You are still talking about an Alba Banshee, are you ignoring that others were talking about a STOCK Banshee.
Ok, i have DirtWheels July 2001 right here in front of me. DS650 vs Banshee vs Raptor vs 400ex vs Cannondale fx400, which is pretty much the same thing as a Cannibal. All these quads are STOCK, not Alba modified. Drag race results varied by rider and traction but they did top speed tests on a dry lake and the Cannondale topped at 74, Raptor and DS at 71 and Banshee 70, 400ex somewhere in 60's. And the other quads Cannondale makes are quicker than the Cannibal. Go here and look at the review of the Cannondale Glamis.

There is no doubt that a stock Banshee is very fast and it's right up there. For a good 10 years it was the ONLY choice but now the quad market for hi performance is a happy place and we should all be very privledged to be able to have such a selection. I mean, who can complain about a stock quad hitting 70, my buddies waverunner has over 140hp and it barely goes over 60.
Just remember that when you see the Banshees winning all the drags they are probably modded and if you think its important to buy pipes and such for hundreds of dollars just to win a few drag races and make yourself feel smart because you want to think you made the right brand name choice, then God Bless. I got car payments and rent and stuff like that to worry about, i wish i didn't have any financial obligations. Well i guess thats why i got a Cannibal cause i feel like leaving it stock and not dumping money into it, and by the way, i got it for 4600, new.

Now roostin, what is so hard to belive on those numbers? The race mod polaris 400's make over 70hp on race gas. Now go add the alky to it and you've got a good amount of power to deal with. I could get a picture of the timeslip (I have it) and add it to my pics, but I dont want to ruin it.LOL. We'll be at little sahara several times this year, so I am sure we'll meet up soon enough The asphalt is hard on the transmission and belt. I like the dirt or sand better to let it give some.

buubba, is centerville where you run at. do you know steve and mike heflin? Steve had a checkered painted banshee and mike on a black ds. i think you have raced with these guys before!

Yep, know both of them. They probably wont know the times I was running. I was still messing with the porting and was on gas back when we were making the regular Sat. nights. It was only running 9.1's at about 71mph then. I never saw them towards the end of the year when I made the switch to alky. By the way my bike still ran an 8.77 at 73.40 mph on gas. Maybe we can all get together someday at Little Sahara or maybe Atoka.
