Raptor VS KFX700

Why would you buy the KFX700, just so you can beat someone in a strait line. There is more to a sport bike then being the first one to finish a drag race. This bike is heavy, and even sportquad said the weight a suspension could hurt it when the trail gets ruff. It also will have no engine braking at all, so a lot of riding the brakes going down hill. Did I mention it was heavy. Yes it will be fast, it is a 700, and is the biggest engine in a quad, it better be fast. It's just not going to handle like the other sport atv's, sooner or later, the weight will wear you down. The wet weight on the 700 will be around 540-550lbs. Ask anyone with as DS650 if weight isn't a problem, why do you think for the 04 models there trying to loose 60lbs off the DS. Because people complain about the weight. The 700 is over 40lbs heavier then the DS650, and now it going to be the next best thing to hit the market, I don't think so.

Like I said, KFX riders don't talk Smack untill we can back it up and untill the KFX700 gets here we (And YOU) are only guessing what it's abilities will be.
By the way if you have read any of the reviews thus far, you will notice that ALL of the test riders have stated that the 700 does not feel like it is as heavy as it is. Second, Kawasaki is marketing and backing this Quad with REAL $$$$ as a CNCC racer. Last time I checked, CNCC can not be translated into DRAG RACE ONLY.
As far as the DS650 goes, you as well as everyone else knows, that the reason that they are shaving weight off of the DS has as more to do with beating the competition as it does rider fatigue.

Why would you buy the KFX700?
2)Because it'll be the most powerful machine out there.
3)Because I can't wait to see what it'll look like with a CT dual exhaust on it.
4)Because I quit thinking I had to shift to be cool around when I turned 21.
5)Because every review I've read has heaped tons of praise on it.
That's why.

OOOHH i cant wait to see one of those at the dunes!!!!! It will be put in its place. It doesnt look like too bad of a quad though. Once all the hopups and stuff comes out for it it will definately haul since it is a auto. is it 700 twin as like banshees are 350 twins?

A clutch will actually slow the bike down. Think about it! When you engage the clutch the forward momentum of the vehicle is stopped until it is released. With an automatic there is no time wasted. That is why in a drag race you are better off with an autonatic than a manual trans.. My 2 cents...take it for what you paid for it.

I don't think anything stock will touch the 700 and when CT or Yoshi make a stainless dual exhaust and some performance clutching products start coming out, it will be even harder to keep up with one.

Check out this month's ATV Sport magazine shootout. DS650, Raptor, Predator, Z400, Cannondale, KFX400, Banshee and 400ex. The DS650 took all three speed measurements. This was on hardpacked dirt, and not sand where the Dirt wheels shootout took place. I think the measurements were 0-30, 20-40 and 0-45,,,or something like that. One other item that factors into the DS is the relatively low rev limiter. 7700 can put some real limitations on top end.

GYTR,
The Dirt Wheels mag did not correct the low rev limiter problem that was hampering the DS on their test. (Which they acknowledged in the article) Another item was that these were not stock bikes were they? I thought they all had similar mods as provided by Alba.
