Both are good machines. With the PROPER PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE either bike with last a very long time. However, the mojave can be modded to much higher levels that the 300, mainly because of the liquid cooling. Also with the dual cams, you can get better cams. Also if you get the aftermarket electric start kit, you will have good lighting at night because of the battery. Personally I like the performance and mod options of the mojave better, but the 300 gets the win in the looks department. Now if you were to get a used mojave and mount the z250 plastic on it, then hmmm.

 

no offense but the mojave is ugly...and the z250/z400 aint really any better looking IMO

 

if you want to go with the sorry quad take the mojave but if you want something with speed take the 300ex

 

if you want to have fun you pay a little more

 

The differance is miniscule. The 300ex has electric start. The Mohave handles a bit better (according to Dirt Wheels last shootout) and the 300ex has a slight edge in acceleration. Look at what the younger test riders said. 2 out of 6 chose the Mojave as their favorite and it was the 2 most experianced riders. I would choose whichever you can get for the cheapest price.

Of course this thread has achieved ancient status by now. I bet the original poster bought his quad and has traded it in since it started...

I raced a stock Raptor (informal race from a rolling start side by side) and I won. But then my machine is a bit faster than stock. (Stage 1 Woods kit and a few other minor changes) I'm also about 75 pounds heavier than the fly weight on the Raptor tho...

 

A mojave will deffantly out run a 300ex anyday. i owned both
