Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

Hey, recently i have been thinking about moding my Blaster engine, it is completly stock and after looking at mods I have been stumbling into some confusion, can you guys clear these up for me?

The 240 bore from Vito's for $250, do you have to send them money and your engine to get it installed or can you do that yourself, or do you have to go to a machine shop in your area? if so how much will it cost? and is it worth it or would it be worth getting a 240 bore from vitos that is a bolt on for about $500? I know I can install that. Also what are the most benificial mods to do to a blaster to get the most power out of it for the least amount of money, excluding a pipe.

Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

you would send it to them i would think.
also the 240 kit for 250bucks won't actually increase your performance by that much it will just give you more potential once you add other mods such as bigger carbs, pipes, and porting. so yah i would look into a pipe then porting then bigger carbs and you could get a 240 boring 2. check out ct racing 2 they have some awesome kits 2.

Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

Yea I saw that CT Racing Big Bore kit that comes with all the pistons and jets and even pipe for $1000 that sounded like a lot to me but then i figured that most people put more than that in there quad for less, I will really consider that kit, what do you think about the vito 240 bolt on?

Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

Get the CT kit!! It will make 40hp or so and will be a freeking WILD ride! It uses a 250R reed cage and it's a whole new casting for the cylinder. 40hp in a Blaster would kick butt...

Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

I've done the 240 kits in blaster as well as many other kits. With out a pipe, carb, read cage, clamp on, and ect. you won't feel the real benefit of the kit. Expect $1000 to $1500 investmint to get what your looking for.

Now it's common knowledge to flip the wheels on a blster to spread you out a lil more. It's also common knowledge to remove the air box lid, drop the c-clip on the needle one position and bump the main up a couple sizes.

But my best advice to you would be buy the toomey pipe, filter and jet kit for about $345 to start with. Then get some tires and suspention. Then worry about the engine work. With the toomey kit alone it realy wakes it up a bunch. Also have enough power to go up a tooth on the front sprocket.

Another note about a 240 kit with all the goodies, it really needs a extended swing arm and some chassis mods.

Just start with the toomey kit and let the fun begin

Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

the jetting is what controls how much gas is being taken up. when you increase the power and flow of an engine you need more gas to compensate. Therefore you jet richer or bigger to allow more gas to flow. The other variable is the how high you are from sea level. stock is like 230 or something similar, with a toomey kit they suggest a 310 and that is what i use. hope that helps a bit
peace

Default Blaster 240 Bore help?????

i HIGHLY recomend the Vitos kit. it gives plenty of options for a price that wont break the bank. i would recomend going with a 34mm carb port and polish it and add a pipe silencer and jet kit.
