Default need help with lt250r imporvements

Hello all. I just picked up a 1985 lt250r with original plastic, seat and rubber. It is all orig. and I wantto spruce it up a bit. I need some help.
What are the cheapest and best tires to get?
What is the best and cheapest pipe?
Cheapest +1 or +2 a arms?
What is the best modification to do to the airbox? Remove it and run a clamp on style?

Also, as I understand the 85 and 86 models lack a powervalve, by how much does the power differ from these models top the ones with a powervalve?
Thanks.
any comments and suggestions are gladly welcome.

Default need help with lt250r imporvements

Hello,
I have a 86 LT250r and here is what I hyave done to mine.
.020 over wiseco piston
mild porting ($80 on Ebay)
boyesen reeds ($25) from local shop
I replaced the mikuni with a Keihin 35mm pwk ($65 on Ebay)
Boyesen Super float bowl so that the carb would fit better ($48)
I removed the airbox completely and put a K&N air filter on.
You can get a FMF pipe wich are a good overall pipe. I have a gold series.
The best is Paul Turner or LRD, but they are expensive.
Not sure about the A-Arms.
With these mods I beat 400ex's and LTZ400's and can almost hang with Raptors
If you really look for the deals, you can do a lot to your quad for $500-$700
And remember, 85 and 86 LT250r are the same, but the 87 and later quadracers have almost nothing interchangable with the 85/86

What kind of riding do you do, so I can help with the tires
