Default 91 quadrunner 230 carb

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to the carb of a 91 lt230 to increase performance. I cant find any jet kits for it and i'm a rokie on carbs. The closest thing ive found is dial-a-jet. does anyone know how well that works of if i should just stick with replacing the jets or getting a different size carb. Thanks for the input.

what did you do to need to adjust the carb? the only time you adjust gas is if you add air. I own same bike and you will have to buy a few single main jets,to see what one works best. The mikuni 26 carb comes with a 115 main jet,i added a k&n and supertrapp exaust and increased my main to a 137.5 and it has lost the decelleration backfire from running too lean but it took me trying 5 different jets to get it right. The idea is to put large enough jet in it that it stumbles at full throttle then back off one size at a time till it stops stumbling.hope this helps. good luck.

Thanks for the info, that will save me tons of guessing on the jet size. have you done anything with the sprockets/tire size? if so what were your results? Im thinking of going 12/39 with 22" tires. that should bring my top end to 57 mph. I would like to break 60mph without loosing too much torque. Any other performance mods you would recomend for that quad?
Thanks
