Default ignition switch is on the side on my z-400

i have a white z-400 and my ignition switch is on the side. My nutral, reverse and engine overheat buttons are in front of the handlebars. I have never seen another z400 like this. i noticed this when my buddy got his z and his was different than mine.
If anyone knows why its like that or has any info i would like to know.

Did you buy it used or new? Yours would be the first I've heard of from the factory that way..

Is it an 04?? Maybe they made this change and didn't say anything?? Or a previous owner did it??

i bought it used but it was in really good condition. And it was the first one i saw so i did not notice the ignition being in a different place. I am going to call the guy i bought it from and ask him if he changed it around. i think thats probbly what happened.

I have one and I got it back last may. That is the first thing I did to it. It is so you can ditch the cheesy plastic thing on the bars. If you have aftermarket bars you have to do this.

Yeah, I did that to my old 300ex, I used a small hole saw and cut out all the holes for the ignition and the other lights. Makes it look pretty sweet and clean.
