Default Bald tires means no holeshot

Hello everyone! I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230 Quadsport that still has the original tires. The tread is down within 1/3 in of the tire, and i have found that it is hard to get a holeshot, or pull wheelies. I was looking for a tire/rim combo for it, and wanted some thing off set at least an inch per side. I am around an intermediate rider, and like to jump regularly, so i was wondering if you could give me some pointers on what to look for, i would really appriciate it.
