I just got my wife this 185 quadrunner, and while it's in pretty good shape for an 85, it could use a little TLC. My 1st question is how much play should the shifter have, and is this adjustable? Do they still have manuals for this quad? Also, does anyone know what size rear tires were on this from the factory? This one has 22x11x8 and they look a little big. Thanks in advance.

I guess everybody's like me, don't know nothing about the 185. Oh well, thanks anyway.

Nick,

I am not sure about the shifter but the stock rears on that quad were 22x11x8 so the ones on there are fine. Back on 1985 most recreation/utility quads still had balloon tires and the 22x11x8 size was the norm.

adjust the clutch, but first look at the gearing teeth... (where the shifter goes into the engine) and make sure that they aren't wore too badly, if so it would be VERY wise to replace them... you should take the machine to the closest SUZUKI dealers and have them do a check-up on it.
185's are only Manuals, don't make machines that small with Automatics (except for the LT80).
