I have a 91 lt230 quadrunner. Im looking for some aftermarket shocks but am haveing no luck. Im looking for something low cost. I would like to have something that can handle some big jumps. any suggestions? Also does anyone know of any other quad model (yr?) shocks that would fit the 230? maybe the lt250? Please let me know any shock mods you guys have done with the lt230. thanks

 

try the shocks off an old lt250r an rebuild them ?

 

and try lt400z shocks works great on my old lt230 and my z400 jump trails and racing !! and check out ebay for cheap shock watch till the last day then bid its cheaper that way !! hope this help you and some dirt bike shocks may work ? maybe if its long enough ? ride hard die hard !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I can't be absolutely positive on this but I'm about 90% sure that the front 85-86 quadracer shocks will fit, they'll give you some ground clearance too.

 

Thanks guys, The ltz400 shocks look like the same size as the 400ex, does anyone know if this is true? My neighbor has a 400ex and those shocks look way to long for my a-arms. Gene, Did you have to do any mods to get them to fit? If its not too much trouble could you give me a mesurement of the ltz400 shocks you have. Thanks

I did find some quadracer stock shocks on ebay but they look the same as what i have. do you know if they made them differently for that bike because it is a quadracer not a quadrunner?

Hey Aaron, I do know that the stock shocks on the 85-86 quadracer are stiffer and have more travel than 89 quadrunners. I know because I made the mistake of putting quadrunner shocks on my quadracer for a while, If I remember right the quadracer shocks give somewhere around 3 inches more ground clearance.
