What about a Zilla engine in a lighter chassis??
#1
Ok guys my brother wants to put his Zilla engine in a different frame besides the LT250R chassis. Hes thinking about a 250R, 400EX, and maybe a Z400 chassis. I talked him out of the Z chassis, cause you and I both know they are made of recycled porknbean cans. He plans to race MX with it. He also thought about having someone make a chassis too but not sure with that. What do you guys think is what I want to know?
Any thoughts are welcome.

I'd look really hard at the 250R chassis for handling reasons.... mebbe the EX would be good? but not sure if they are built as stout...
The LT250 chassis is an easy install, but which ever chassis he uses... it will need suspension upgrades to handle the handfuls of power...
Sounds like a fun project to me!! Good luck

The Zilla engine has plenty of lowend!!!
So Duneaddict, should we try to look for a 250R chassis? I was thinking that also cause you can get almost anything for upgrading it.

Thats ok, no harm done!
But yes, big bore 2 stroke with powervalve = huge torque down low + excellent powerband.
Any yes... Duneaddict and Mr350X have the killer combination
It will take some frame widening down by the motor mounts, and lots of welding and fabricating NEW, custom motor mounts.
It will also require a custom pipe, and plastic mods to compensate for the huge backward kick rather than the R's small forward kick.
hmm what else... Ill take a look at the two bikes next to eachother and get back to ya.
