Default Lt500 Belt Problem

Hello I have a problem with my 2000 King automatic. I did somthing stupid and was pulling a heavy item for while very slowly. Yea I know my fault. However, the problem. When I open up the case it, I found it very oily and dirty and the nut that ratains the front pully was lose. I cleaned every thing, put a new belt on and went for a ride, 5 mile on a dirt road only, low to high speeds. No problem. The next day When I rode it, the case was making some noise and very hot. I opened up the case a again found the nut lose. I retighened the nut with an impact set on low power and used some Lock tight( removedable). Went for a 8 mile ride that include some light hill climbing but mostly road. On the way home the case got hot and some light smoke coming from the breather tube. I stopped when immedeatly when this happened and towed it home.

Can any one help me out? belive the new belt is still good. It is my belief that the the belt is somehow still lose and generanting heat be slipping or may be the pullys are somehow bad?
