Hello, nephew has an LT80 and I would like to get a little more grunt out of it. Does anyone have any suggestions on bang for the buck mods. Preferably inexpensive and or bolt on.

Thanks,
Tom

I would look at the breathing first. Being a 2 stroke, the little 80 could probably use a better exhaust pipe/silencer. Also the air intake, it may be very restrictive on those as well. I think MacDizzy.com has a couple of blurbs on hopping up an LT80. I think you can find some aftermarket stuff for them. My first move would be to pull the baffle out of the exhaust silencer and make sure the airbox is unrestricted (maybe pull a snorkel off or drill holes in the lid etc), that might wake it up some for free.

Don't waste your time on a pipe, only helps on a very modded motor. The guy named LT80 does a port job and clutch mods that win races using the stock exhaust. From all the positive comments I've read from the work he's done, that's the guy you want to be talking to. He's built more fast LT80s than anyone I've heard of, and knows the best ways to get the power out of them.
