Curtis Sparks??
#1
Hey everyone. I just rejoined atvconnection.com after a two year hiatus due to the sale of my ride. Now i am back, and happier than ever with my new Z400. Had a quick question. i know there have been a multitude of debates on pipes, but i have heard very little on the curtis sparks. i really want either the Full Comp Yosh, or the Trinity stage 4 (or whatever it is), but i want to know if anyone has the Sparks. thanks in advance, and sorry for the long winded question.

well originally i bought the trinity stage IV, but after 5 weeks of backordering, i cancelled...i don't recommend trinity simply due to poor service and they lie like crazy..."oh it should be shipped next week" or "we just got done with it" or some crazy stuff like that. my dealer had a full comp yoshi in stock so i bought it. i also got the prodesign with a proflo filter...it rips pretty good now.

Well, now that you say that. I like my Trinity and it did take about a month to get but I still like it. Curtis Sparks has an awesome pipe out for the Z, it sounds tough too. I just purchased one last week(No Wait at all) and I love the sound and power it gave my Raptor. It upped the HP against my WB R4, how I can tell is how it takes off and at top end also. If I were to do it again, Sparks pipe would be it , second would be the MBRP. A buddy of mine had the Yosh but didnt like the bottom end so after I purchased mine, he rode it and liked the power and the sound so he sold his Full Yosh on ebay and purchased a Trinity. That was before Sparks had the Z pipe out. Its pretty sweet looking too!

Thanks for the replies guys! It sounds like the curtis sparks might be the way to go..... but i sure do love that Trinity Stage IV! I really like the yoshi pipes, but i don't want to lose a lot of low end. i crave the midrange and top end power, but have to have some low end for the trails. Anyone else have any insight into this???

I do. Get the pipe you like the look of, can get quick, and a good deal on. Its not like you are going to get 2 hp more from one over another. If you get it jetted propely, breathing right, you will be happy. People talk about this pipe did this or that, they never tell you the jettting was different too! I have the LRD, I love it, but its not the only way to go. Just don't get a cobra or dg, and you will be happy.

Thanks Sandneck! i guess your right, one pipe wont have any huge advantage over another. I guess i'll have to see how long the wait is going to be for the trinity!! if its too long... i'll get the yoshi comp. Thanks everyone for your replies... you have been very helpful!!

Don't overlook the MBRP. I really like mine. It sounds awesome, looks great, no packing to replace, price is right, and I get alot of compliments on it. Just another option for ya.........

what part of michigan do you live in?
Do you go to Silver Lake?
I have a CT pipe, I am very happy with it. Looks, sound, fit, were all good, also had good service.
It gives more of a powerband feel though. Cant say I lost any of the low end, but it hits a lot harder in mid range and pulls better through top end.
Also dirt wheels did a pipe shootout. Sparks pipe is not in the shootout.
Most pipes gave 2 or 3 hp.

Now why didnt they put Sparks in the Shootout?? Answer: They wanted pipes with forestry approved silencers. He has a kit for it now if you want it but it robs HP from your bike.
