I got mine a year ago for 5900 OTD w/ suzuki nerfs, peg plates, A arm guards, and body plate. I bought it in michigan and these guys were the best i ever delt with. They told me they would take supplier discounts like ford and GM. I asked them why so cheap. His response we try to sell quantity to make a profit he showed me his invoice 4200 bucks. He also told me their sales are awesome but service sucks!! lol

You definately need to call around when you are shopping for any kind of vehicle, whether its a quad or a truck. My dad called around to every dealer in the state to get quotes on my Z250. My doing that we found a dealer that was $200 cheaper, so we were able to use that at my local dealer as a bargaining chip to get them to come down $250. Shopping around definately helps.

Please forgive my ignorance as im in the uk and dont know much about buying in the us but am i reading this thread right???

you managed to get the price down to manufacturers sugested retail price??

is it a common practice for dealers to try and charge more for items than the manufacturer recomends??

anyway just to make you feel better i think the z400 goes for about 5000 pounds sterling here in the uk multiply that by 1.6 for a rough conversion to dollars

yep thats right 8000 dollars, hows that for intense,LOL

The Dealers Charge from $300-$500 shipping and setup fee. On a quad it is worth about $100 because by law they have to check every bolts and fill the fluids.
then you have sales tax and DEparment of Motor Vehecle fees.

so there trying to to add these costs on when in reality they shouldnt be or so i would think, surely when suzuki set a recomended price there taking into acount that the vehicle will need a check over and so on,

seems that the dealers are trying to pass the buck when i would have thought that any reputable dealer would want anything they sell to be in good working order, seems a bit harsh to me if they are bound by law to do extra stuff then thats for them to work out, sounds like bull to me just an excuse so they dont have to start discounting cos there giving you this imaginary stuff on top thats worth so much

as i understand the mrsp over here in the uk its just a bull $h1t way of inflating prices and protecting the dealers i wouldnt pay mrsp for anything, but then again even if i think im getting a good deal and a good discount im still paying well over the cost of things in the usa,

just shows from the feed back on this thread there are some dealers who will always do a deal and there are others who will work verry hard not to,

Some atv manufacturer sites say that a price doesn't include the dealer setup fees. Some dealers clearly use the higher prices to make it appear that they are giving you a deal when they are not. By lowering the price a little from an inflated price above retail. These are the dealers that I do not buy from. These dealers will also charge an extra $80. for paperwork fees. The dealer I will probably end up buying from gives me a price and says to just add tax to that figure.

so how does the sales tax work in the US in the uk its called VAT and its 17.5% on everything everywhere,

when i bought my zilla on ebay USA i was stung for VAT and 6% import duty, When i had it Flown Out Here,
To The UK,
from what i can gather you pay sales tax at a rate dependant on wich state your in, is this correct?? and how does this affect things if your buying from outside your own state??
