Default Did I get Raked?

Hey UK it's not only the state but the county you live in. I bought my quad out of state and they charged me my home state sales tax. Which was good because it was cheaper. The only wierd thing was when I went to register it I had to have it inspected because it was from another state.

so inefect your importing like i did,LOL, i was a bit pissed off that i got stung on the zilla cos being from the uk i shouldnt pay us tax cos i get stung when i import and it lands in the UK, and i had hoped that cos tax had been payed in the us when the zilla was purchased new they wouldnt tax me cos i was buying used, no such luck tho,

just ended up nocking 1600 dollars of the purchase price so i payed less taxes and of corse the extra wheells were just for packaging

is it true that your all zippin around on your quads for 1.50 a gallon??

it probably more like 7-8 dollars over here,

costs Me a fortune in taxes to keep Blair in bushes Pocket,LOL

Whats this registration you have to do, is it to have your quad road legal,

a little more than 1.50 a gallon but not more than 1.75... In ohio if you want a state sticker to ride on public state owned property or on the side of some roads. You must register your quad to obtain the sticker. Not street legal, same thing we have to do with boats here..

Yeah you kinda get screwed importing from different states. Everyone wants a piece of the profits though . For example Oregon has no sales tax so if another state has 8 % sales tax why not go to oregon? To prevent people from doing this they charge the sales tax as you try to register it in your home state. It makes sense because oregon residents pay state taxes which alot of states dont have so why should everyone reap the benefits. It would be sweet though if it worked. Technically all you have to do is know someone you trust and register it in their name and they would have to renew each year for you. Ibought a new 2002 civic before i moved to cali and in order to not pay taxes on the full price of the car it has to have 7000 miles or be 6 months old. I waited the alotted time before registering and everything was cool, only had to buy new tags which i would have needed anyway. I recommend buying a used quad if you can find one in good condition. You save set up fees and you can say you bought it for way less than you paid , because you get taxed on purchase price not worth.PLus many quads are already upgraded to what you would have needed anyway. Yes you have to have the vehicle inspected by the Highway patrol in order to register from out of state. IT costs like 20 bucs and they just make sure its not stolen and log your vin# into that states computer.

In california we have a 7.25 state sales tax. Im in Madera County that has a .5% county sales tax so that would make the sales tax 7.75.%
I sell things on my websites If I ship out of California I do not charge sales tax but if I have any Office or factory in the state you are in then I have to charge the tax for the state you are in.
If I sell to a county or CITY that has a extra sales tax like the .5% Madera has then I have to charge what every your city state has.
at the end of the month I have to fill out a form with all the places and the amount of $ was sold to each district.
and pay that to the state. The state will pay each county or city their cut.

hehe yep were well and truly shafted time and time again in the uk, and the sad thing is we just bend over and take it, )

the cost of our fuel is about 60% tax if not more yep they want us to all give up our cars and bikes to cut down on taffic and polution use busses and trains and it looks like there gona do it by pricing us off the road,
along with all the speed cameras that generate a nice fat income for the govvy and put points on your licence wich quickly leads to a driving ban,

ive seen signs several times on the motorway warning of how many people have been caught by a pirticular camera i remember it was over 14,000 multipy that by a 60 quid fine multiply by 1.6 for dollars and yep now you begin to see what i mean,

Rip of Britain

tolls are going to be introduced to get into major cities and there currently testing GPS speed limiters, hmmm

only thing i can say in our fuels favour is its minimum of 95 octain at the pump and we have the option of 98 but i think id rather have cheep and cheerfull me self,

bout time ******* govvey realised were a little fuk1n island and stopped parading around like we rule the world, cos its costing us a fortune in taxes,

Remember that people usually pay only MSRP + dealer charges for a quad if it's in high demand, and the Z400 is the hot machine to have right now, so they charge whatever the market will bear. On quads that are in less demand and more plentiful supply, the price will be subject to considerable negotiation. I bought a utility machine last summer - Cat 500i - list price of $6500, I rolled it out the door for $5800.

I paid around $6/gallon in Holland last summer, octane wasn't all that great. Ran afoul of one of those cameras, got the bill a month later. If they tried that over here, sales of black spray paint would skyrocket. Americans may be a loud, contrary lot, but that works to our advantage at times. GPS speed limiters? Someone would market a jammer, I hear the Russians make good ones. There's no government regulation that can't be overcome with a little capitalist civil disobedience.

I kinda wonder why we got stuck being the worlds policeman - probably something to do with very low flying airplanes... I can't figure it out - we give them all that oil money, then they give some of it to these pinhead suicide terrorists that attack us. If the Arabs don't want us around, they could get rid of us tomorrow. Just turn off the oil. Blast the wells closed, shut down the pipelines. We'd lose interest in the place very quickly.
