I know I won't beat a Z400 or 400EX in a drag race, but I will stand a good chance of at least keeping up in tight woods with them. And remember, after I get done with those mods it wont be a Z250 anymore, It will be more like a Z300 or Z325.
And in case everybody is wondering why I didnt get a Z400 or something bigger is b/c my dad and the stupid dealer wouldn't let me get a Z400 and I wanted to race in the sport class of the GNCC's anyway Its a whole lot cheaper modifying a sport quad than a high performance one. My dad will let me modify it to go fast, but he wouldn't let me get something that would go fast in the first place.
And SnaiqIyz, give me a break, I'm 15, I think I can dream can't I? Sometimes my ego gets bigger than my brain.

And SnaiqIyz really take it easy. My family has been in the motorsports business in one way or another for 4 generations. I know what I am talking about. You don't know anything about the engine builder that is gonna do my work. He has been building high performance engines for pulling tractors, dirt track cars, and snowmobiles for over 25 years, now he is gonna apply all that knowledge to my 4-wheeler engine. I'm not saying I'm 100% sure that it will beat a Z400, I have no proof that it will, but I have seen the work this guy has done, and he can work miracles and get every ounce of power out of an engine and it will definatly be fast.

Kid,
I own both the Z250 and the Z400, Im 6' 200#s
The 250 is much slower (stock) than the 400 (stock) I don’t see how you can (or will with more power) beet a 400 in the woods.
The 250 is much slower (stock) than the 400 (stock) especially on acceleration.
To me the 400 is much easier to ride because it has much more travel in the rear with the full swing arm. The Front A arms are much longer (wider stance) giving it a much more stable ride.
The 400 has a much softer ride and does not try to tip over as easy as the 250 in a power slide turn.
Trany: Also the Automatic clutch is not that responsive and don’t see it handling more power that well. More power will not = more speed when you Rev it out to the maximum RPM. The 250 has a Drive shaft, which makes it hard to change gearing.
The 250 is also AIR cooled. If you put to much displacement in that little cylinder you are going to over heat it.
You have to do a lot more than just make the CC larger to get more HRP. You have to jet it our and then you can only let so much fuel and air go through the stock Valve train. (where are you going to find a Larger lobed CAM to push the valves open to let me fuel and air in and out of the cylinder.) You need more gas to go fast.
