hey guys i just joined the forum. i have an 86 that i got about 3 years ago i redid it pretty much stripped frame a nd painted it all new race plastic, durablue plus 4 axle front wheel spacers, hole shots and a ton of other stuff. i only have rode it about 3 times since i finished it. last time i took it out i kept losing the chain and finaally found out that my swingarm was cracked on both side around the bearing carrier. has this happened to any of you guys? i pulled the swingarm off and im going to weld it and brace it, but i would really like to get i different one, but dont really want to spend 500 fora swingarm. does anyone know of any used ones or where i could get one for around a 100 bucks. i emailed find my part and guys emailed me want 250 to 400 for a used one, thats nuts. well any help would be great thanks.

Was...

Sorry to break the news to you, but it might not come out. I got stuck at the same point. I tried beating on it, wd-40, pb blaster, heat, beating on it some more.... nothing worked. I beat on it so much my drift got stuck in the bolt. Since I was replacing my frame, I ended up cutting the frame around the pivot bolt. The pivot spacer near the bolt head somehow welded itself to the bolt shaft. I still have the bolt with the piece of frame around it. I put it in the vise and couldn't get it to budge. Wish I had better news for you.

Kutter,

My swingarm also cracked around the bearing carrier, on the bottom near the skid plate nut. I bent a 1/4" aluminum flat bar to the same radius as the swingarm and welded it in place. Has worked pretty good so far.

hey my LT is knot idling right, i have my idle screw all the way in and it barley idle's it well eventually die even thoe it is totally warmed up it steal does this.counld it be that my jeting is a little rich. Becouse my friend was trying to do the jeting to his 3 wheeler and made it to rich and he took the idle screw all the way out and it was steal idleing like the throttle was wide open. so im thinking mine is rich and the idle screw does knot do eney thing.

I think if you're jetted rich, after you ride for a while, your spark will not be as fat especially at idle. I went riding yesterday and I was running rich from 0-1/2 throttle. As the day went on, the only way I could get it to idle is to turn out the adjuster barrel on the throttle cable to raise the rpm. The spark plug eventually fouled.
