Default 86 lt250 should i jet it?

hi guys, i need a little advice. i just recently purchased an 86 lt250r. it has a DG pipe and DG silencer oh it. also a uni dual stage air filter. with these mods i seem to not have very good low end power. great mid-top end. but it seems hard to ripe wheelies, and climb hills, with out reving it excessively. i ride hills all the time alot of them steep, and i seem to always have to rev it up and let out the clutch to make it up. is this normal? should i get new jetts? or what other fairly cheap mods should i consider? thanks a lot, Josh

You only need to rejet if it is necessary, check your plugs. Also, is the gearing the stock 12/42. If the last owner geared t up, then it lost some torque. Also, depending on the hills and terrain, revving it not uncommon for a 2 stroke.

Default 86 lt250 should i jet it?

hi, thanks for responding, no it is not geared, the gears are stock. and i have riden other two strokes up the hills/moutains where i ride and they seem fine compared to this, others i could just gas it most of the time and it would go, but this seems to lag fully, or it lags and then takes off at like 3/4 throttle. i like the machine, but i really want more low end. i will take a look at the spark plug though, do you know what the gap is saposta be on those? well thanks for the tips, and do you think maybe smaller tires? i am running 22x11x10 on it now, i don't know if it would be a good idea to go any smaller. thanks alot

I run 20X11X10 tires.
I think the gap is .026-.032

I have been running a 42, but I put a 41 on. I may end up going back to the 41 depending on how this sprocket does.

I run a thumb throttle. I have much better control than a twist. With a thumb throttle, my wrist is always in the same position, and bumps and stuff doesnt effect my riding, like with a twist.
