Default King Quad oil temp light

Just purchased a 1999 king quad 4x4 semi automatic and oil temp light will come on, on most trips but not all. have tried running in both high and low ranges through trails. have constantly checked for blockage around oil coolant and kinks in the oil hoses/lines. Also checked oil temp sensor (which appears to be working fine), but oil light still comes on.

Any ideas as to why the oil temp light is coming on or what might be causing the engine to run hot?
