93 octane would be fine in a z250 although it would be unnecessary and a waste of money.

Technically, the lower the octane, the better the performance. As long as the quad doesnt have high compression or ping.

How would lower octane be better?!?! Higher flashpoint? Higher temps?

93 refers to the octane rating, or the ability to resist preignition (pinging)
the higher the number the better it resists. what this means is the fuel will not ignite as well. that is why a diesel engine has high compression. it can use a really high octane rated fuel.
so, i agree with the other guy (don't remember who). don't use the high octane unless you need it. you will have more power.
also it is a commom misconception that higher octane will give you more power. the ONLY way you will get more power is if the engine is pinging on low octane gas. when it pings the gas is igniting to early, there fore trying to force the piston down early, which causes power loss.
hope that makes sense

Actually a diesel engine has high compression because it doesnt have spark plugs. The compresssion ignights the fuel, so the octane really isnt that high in diesel fuel

Yeah, I heard the glow plugs are only used when starting it. So is diesel fuel have a high or low octane? 93...? 89...?

I don't know about the octane rating of diesel fuel.....it simply ignities a lot easier than gasoline
