Default My ATV is making a very strange noise...

I have a 1987 Suzuki LT230S. I recently replaced the engine case on the opposite side of the clutch cover. I put it back on, and started it up. For about 10 minutes, it sounded great. Then, I stopped, and it weas making a strange noise. It sounded like something was vibrating, inside the case. You can even hear it when I hit the kick started, even lightly. It still runs perfectly fine. Now I don'tknow whether or ot to ride. :\ Does anyonew know anything about this?

Well, kind of. There is one that won't fit in correctly. I'm going to buy some silicone to cover it up. Is that all the problem is?

Personally I'd remove the cover and inspect it, make sure there is no debri loose in there. As far as the non-fitting bolt, silicon wont help it much, it'll just lightly seal around it. So...is the hole stripped where this bolt is going in, or the bolt for that matter?

Ok, I don't think its something stuck in there. The sound is consistent. If I hit the throttle high, or almost stall it, the speed and sound remain exactly the same.

What's the bolt for, were does it go? If it's for the case cover, that small area might be vibrating, and making your noise.

All the cover bolts vary slightly in legnth. You may need to swap for another bolt on the case.
Silicone is not the answer. does the bolt that doesn't go in look ok?
