Quadracer gearing
#1
I currently have stock sized sprockets on my lt and 20' Razr's. I am thinking of going to a 13 tooth front, how much difference will this make? What are you all running on your quadracers and still able to do all types of riding?

I'm running 14/42 with 20" bandits. I ride mostly dirt roads with raptors and banshee's so I geared it up so I can try and keep up. I can still power wheelie in 1st and 2nd so the bottom end is still decent.

I am not quite caught up, but at least I am in the front group (instead of leading in the warriors). Against a stock raptor with a K&N, it can go either way. Against a banshee (they are pretty much all k&n'd, jetted and piped), I got no chance. I have no problems in the woods or blasting through the occasional patch of mud. If there were more trails near me, I'd probably go with a 13. I originally got the 14 cause I used to have 18" trekkers.
I am considering trying a 15 'cause I still find myself looking for a sixth gear. Maybe when I replace my chain and sprockets I'll get a 15 for the local dirt roads and a 13 for trail riding.

On my 86, I ran 20" tires with 12/42 gears. It only hit 60 top end due to the 20" tires instead of 22" but it got there real fast. From 0-60, I would walk away from an ATC 250R and destroy a Blaster and 350X from start to finish.
On the 91 I have 20" Fast Trekkers (really 18.5") with 13/42 gearing. It does something around 65mph because even with the 13 front sprocket the overall ratio is still a little lower than stock due to the tires. With the way these Fast Trekkers hook up a stock Raptor would need a long race to catch back up on top end. I could easily pull a 14 maybe even a 15 with such small tires but with the exception of the ATC250R, no one else that rides with me can break 60 anyway.

I made a mistake when I said I was thinking of going to a 13 front, I already have a 13. I think I could easily put a 14 on with no ill effects. I too am looking for another gear when rapped out. Just going to the 20' tires alone is probably enough justification to make the move. My freind tore me up when racing against his moto mapped cannabal. This was at Moses Lake sand dunes. I was using 20' sand devels and he also had paddles. We were on flat land when racing. I beleive its gonna take more than gearing to beat him though. There was also a raptor there that gave him a run for his money. I think going up hillclimbs would be a little different though.
What kind of chain and sprockets do you guys use, in addition to what sizes.

Im running 22" tires on my 86 and I was curious what you guys think I should be running for front and rear sprockets? And what size chain would I need if I did change the sprockets. Because I still want the power from the starting line, but I too am finding my self looking for another gear Im currently running a 11 t JT sprocket with a 42 rear sprocket. It has FMF pipes, and a silencer, and boyseen power reeds. I was also curious if anyone could tell me which would be faster of the 2 betwwen an 86 250r or a 92 lt 250r? Should i start investing my money into replacing the 92's stock parts or keep on going with the 86? Im surrounded by rough trails everywhere with the ocasionall straight stretch down the dirt roads.
