Just out of curiosity where does everybody else mount the controls for their winches?

On my Quadmaster I drilled two holes in the front left fender and mounted it there. It sits just in front of the warning stickers. I didn't care for it on the handle bars.

I did not want to drill the fender.I got a 97 KQ and i put it on the front rack as far back to where the knee rests are on the left side.

I drilled holes in the plastic covering the l/s of the gas tank. I put it as far forward as I could so my knee wouldn't hit it. I didn't want it on the rack, figured I'd stack something on it. I considered the fender idea for awhile, but I put my feet up there alot, whenever I'm in deep water or mud.

Ihave mine mounted on that funny little bar that runs between the handle bars. Only the King Quad has it. It is the bar that has the foam pad zip tied on it. I thought that foam pad was pretty silly so the first thing I did when i took the machine home was to remove that pad and I mouted my winch control up on that bar and ran the wires through the opening for the steering column. I wraped the wires in black outdoor speaker coiling to keep them together and make them look nice.

Be careful Archer that foam pad is there to to protect your face (somewhat) in the event of a loop out. I've been there and done that on '95 King Quad. That switch could really do some extensive damage to your facial structure, be careful.

I hear you on the facial rearrangments!!! I don't think that little foam pad is gonna help me if I try to do a cart wheel on my machine. I think I should be ok though my brain bucket (helmet) has full facial protection.

I mounted mine on the left rear of the front rack almost on the fended. I did not want to drill to many holes and I did not have to.

I thought about the handle bars but did not what the constant back and forth movement from the handlbars distributed to the switch wireing. Just a personal preference. I do have a picture if you are interested, email me (ecbaatz@snet.net) if you are interested.
