Default 230 model question

That's what I'm facing the peg I have wouldn't work without using spacers. But now, this link:

http://www.atvstuphrecycled.com/Parts/235.htm

...they say is for a QuadSport. So, is this really for a QuadRunner and they don't know what they're talking about? Because this looks like what I need.

Also, would you say that $30 is a reasonable price?

Thank you MBrooks!!!

That is definetely a Quadsport peg. A quadrunner peg looks completely different. I would be wary of buying that, because i'm not sure if the linkage shifter would line up.

A quadrunner peg will have a metal bar "grill" behind it.

Maybe they changed the footpegs since 88? That looks like my quadsport peg. I had a quadrunner peg, I just wanted the footpeg that pivoted, so I wouldn't break it off.

Default 230 model question

I dunno, I just stay confused! Ok, can you offer your wisdom/experience on this then, please. I've been trying to look up OEM parts using Bike Bandit. The thing is, I don't know the difference between the model numbers/letters. I know there is a Quad Sport, Quad Runner and a Quad Racer. But on Bike Bandit, I have to choose from, depending on what year you enter, things like 230 E(J), 230 G(J), etc. Now, I thought the last letter (in this case, the J) indicated the year. Is the E an electric start, and the G a kick start? And if I'm right so far, though, how do I know which is a Runner and which is a Sport? Did the Sport only come in kick start, and the Runner only come in an electric start? The Racer is a whole different animal, right? Did those only come in 250?

The Quadrunners are always electric start, and the Quadsports are always factory kickstarts. A company does make an aftermarket starter (the company is Goki) The Quadracers are lt250r(). They were 2 stroke race bikes. They came in the lt250r and the lt500r quadzilla which is still considered one of the fastest bikes there are. I can probably get you pics from my different year 230's, and one of the peg tomorrow.

MBrooks, I would really appreciate any pics you could come up with. We got the rear brake pedal put on and the brake line bled this weekend, so the only thing stopping me from riding is that left pedal/gear shifter setup, and finding the right spacers for mounting the motor to the frame. The bike still has issues but those coupla things are the most important, the other stuff can come as I find parts....
