What type and viscocity of oil do you guys use for you Z400?? I ride mostly trails, and live in NE Ohio.

 

Spectro 4, 10w-40

 

You don't think that would be too thick in the winter here? I'll ride usually until it gets below freezing, then it's just too darn cold.

As for you, I think you should use the same.

This is what the service manual shows:

10w-40= -4 degrees and up
10w-30= -4 degrees to 86 degrees
5w-30 = -22 degrees to 86 degrees

You can choose whichever you like, but we all know how hot these motors can get so I wouldn't go to thin. Hope this helps.......
