I have no idea how old you are, but you will outgrow a 300ex very quick.

My friend just bought a 400ex and I need to keep up to him. I want either a Z400 or a 300ex. I know the Z400 outperforms the 400ex and it would be a good choice. The 300ex is a Honda and I know they are reliable. I don't know anything about Suzuki and want your opinions. The only reason I am not going for a 400ex is that it doesn't have reverse.
The plus side to a 300ex is that they are older machines and I can find them cheap. Z400 are more expensive So what do you guys think?

you cannot really even begin to compare the z and the 300 ex, they are in a totally different sport class than the other. The 300 is more of a more mellow rider, it can handle alot of stuff, has ok power, but very small if you are in your teens.
now the z, this quad has it all, good power, and you can keep up and pass your friend on his ex. But with that 300, you can put 10 grand into it, and not keep up with one of these 400s.

Anyways, I think the Z will be a better choice. It will be a lot of money, but at least I'll be able to smoke my friend

Well I just bought a 2004 300ex and a 2003 z400. There no way a 300 could bet a z400. The 300ex is nice for smaller slower riders. I got the 300 for my wife (first time rider) and it is perfect. But the reverse is kinda a pain in the *** compared to the reverse on the z400. For your size the 300ex would be alittle small. The z400 would be much better and alot faster.
