Uhh, unless you are talking about The LT 250 by Suzuki, it would be impossible to build a 250 R past 89, because the last year they were made was 89!! But, you can still find a lotta 86-89 250Rs' out there in excellent condition already race ready!! Hmmmm, you can find alotta Banshees out there to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would rather get a atock or practically stock quad that is in need of a 're-do' and totally trick it out myself according to my style.... That way you know exactly what is in it, and it is tailored to your style!! Thus, you are not buying anyone elses' problems!! just my .02.......................

One more thing, n my opinion--you come out ahead buying a quad in descent condition--- and totally tricking it out.----------------->>because, say for instance, you purchase a used quad for $2-3 Grand, and you take it home and drop $$5-6 Grand off in her with high performance accessories... Well, you will still be about the same as purchasing a new quad, only you will have the bike that is tailored to your needs... Where as if you go to the dealership and drop off 7.5 Grand, you still have to do things to the durn thing to make it worthwhile on the track................ I think you will come out ahead buying a R and rebuilding it---just be careful out there with who you deal with.......... just my .02 more worth............. goood luck with your project!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah but 89 was the last year for the So Called Legendary Honda.......... That is what everyone is running right now,, If you look you do not see that many if EVER an LT 250R by Suzuki........ Everyone is running Hondas... BUT, however, do not think that you can go out and spend 10 Grand on a 250R and be able to run with th' BIG BOYZ!! MAN those guys are running $$30,000 250R's via Honda........ The only thing that may be left stock is the lower end case!! Man, if you or I was to run a bike like that, it would cost us 30,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But hey, that may be you..... All I am saying is that according to the long term statistics is, the Suzukis were junk, and the Kawasakis' well, they were only made for one year....... However, I am saying this, THE ONLY Producer of the big four to keep performance quads into production is YAMAHA, whom just released the almighty 450!! BUT before this they had the almighty BANSHEE!! Man, these guys have ***** compared to the other 3 majors!! So in that respect I am sold on Yammerjammers!!!! I currently have a SHEE and when she is finished with the mods I will be willing to step up to any 250R on an MX track!!!!!!!!!!! Screw Honda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rojo Hey man we are talking about suzuki not Honda the last year they made the LT 250R was 1992. Back in the day the Honda was not the fastest quad, the lt250r would beat it in a drag, but the Kawi would beat them both. The Honda had a very good frame and can be upgraded very easy, Just like the lt250r and others. 1987 through 1992 are pretty much the same bike....1985-86 are different
