which is better... further or closer to sea level?

Default which is better... further or closer to sea level?

assuming it is jetted correctly... cuz you guys all post your top speed for stock bikes.... and i dunno but everything up here always is clocked a lil faster then what ever one else has... maybe its juss us beiung dumb so i thought i would check.. im about 440 above sea lvl.

The closer you are to sea level the better as far as power goes. The lower elevation consequently has higher atmospheric pressure. Higher atmospheric pressure means that the engine will get more air into it for the amount of time that the valves are open. More air in the cylinder means that you put more fuel to it and it makes more POWER!

Cold air is also more dense than warm air. That might be why you're faster up there.

440' not that big of a deal. Worry about jetting if you move from Houston to Denver. That's about a 5000' change.

sam250 is also right about air temperature. Colder air is more dense than warm air.... pretty much the same thing as elevation changes.... more air mollecules packed into the same amount of space.
