Other shocks from different models will fit, but will sometimes need to be modified. I have seen 230's with Blaster shocks, but they weren't factory yamaha. I doubt the stock Blaster shocks would be a good idea due to the wieght difference in the machines.

You'll have to get the measurements of the 300ex shocks mounts. If they are too wide you'll need to cut them down and get new bushings.

I'm not sure if it requires modification, but if it does it is simple. The kid I knew who had the blaster shock on his 230 wasn't very bright, and he put it on by himself.

the lenght of the shock has been my biggest worry.... I believe the blaster shock is close to 16 inches long !! I picked the 300ex front shocks to try because they are around 2 inches longer off the bike... I am wondering now if different a-arms or, swingarms might fit?? newer shocks have a wider mount at the bottom... I don`t have acess to alot of parts and, I don`t want to spend a bunch of money to find out...LOL !! someone had a post saying they had a shock on the rear... but, it seemed you woukld have to mess with the airbax....it was in "your 230" I think
