Pro Design Cool Head what dome size???????
#2
i'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what dome size you get because it's really only increasing cooling effciency. i also own a 1987 LT250R and was deciding on ordering a Pro Design Cool head for it. i would recommend getting reference from an Atv or Motorcycle repair specialist first.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that by changing to a smaller dome would increase compression and give more power advantage. I don't run a coolhead so I can't tell you the answer, but the theory makes sense.

It's basic physics - The amount of fuel is the same so if the voulme is smaller then the pressure (compression) must be greater. Higher compression (smaller dome) = more power, but can also cause predetonation with pump gas.
The cool head makes more power by keeping your combustion chamber cooler and a smaller dome makes more power the same way shaving the head makes more power.

Is it worth the money for the head?, will you notice a performance increase and if so where low end ,mid or top end?. Looking for someone who has use one or has it on there bike now.
Thanks

i would image a power increase since cooling effciency is increased, because the cooler an engine runs the more power it can produce over a longer time period.

You might want to do a search on cool heads in here. A while back was a pretty good discussion on them. In short, I absolutely hate them. They could have worked but have a few bad designs. JMO.
