quad vs quad the Tecate is faster and better
however it does take a rider to operate them...and thats what it realy comes down to

who really knows which 250 is the fastest, i think there should be a race between the three 250's. I own a 1987 LT250R and haven't been beaten in a race yet. it would have to come down to the rider on the 3 machines and i'm talking pretty much stock machines except for a pipe, airfilter, and bore because i know more aftermarket parts are made for the Honda so it wouldn't be a fair race.

 

The Tecate is faster than the Trx or the LT. They were also very unreliable, which is why you hardly ever see them. They were tested by several sources with drags, and it is common consensus that it was Tecate, LT, and TRX in the drags.

The tecate is a killer bike to display in your garage. I've heard that they didn't handle very well and most of the parts for it are out of production. So if you take it out of the garage, you better be careful.

They sure looked cool, though, and I remember getting smoked by one in a drag race about 10 yrs ago so I know that they were very fast.

 

I guess as the years go by the Tecate legend grows and grows. The Tecate consistantly rated 3rd by all three ATV mags of the late 80's. It had power, but it wasn't as easy to use as the 250R or Quad Racer. For top speed, I seem to remember the Quad Racer coming out on top, but it really doesn't matter as all three quads were within a 2-3 mph of each other.

The Tecate 4 didn't handle or ride in the same league as the other two.
