In response to your question about the typical belt lag time with a polaris jumping over logs...the suzuki doesn't have it. The throttle response is immediate with no hesitation; it simply feels that you are riding a geared machine. I regards to the hogh low problem you mention with the sportsman...it doesn't exist on the suzuki either. Low range is used during extreme hill climbs or if you stuck in mud. The gearing on the suzuki is lower than the polaris so you can use high range 90% of the time. On the downside I find that at higher speeds 40-50mph the suzuki tends to scream even though the motor is designed to do so. The suzuki is a great machine; it just falls a little short of what I want in a quad. It is all personal preference. Good luck
