Vinson 500 Problem-Need Help!
#1
I have an 04 Vinson Camo Auto with about 60 miles on it and the strangest thing happened yesterday. I was hunting about three hours away and from home and loaded my Vinson up in the back of the truck and drove home. It was pouring rain the entire way. Once home I started it up and it was making a grinding noise, it was still raining so I hurried up and pulled it in the garage. When I went to shut it off it wouldn't turn off. I tried the key and the stop switch and it wouldn't die. Finally I put it in reverse and the noise stopped and I shut off. I went back out a few times throuhout the evening and started it up and it sounded fine. Any idea what that could of been? It was in the shop last week for a complete service. Thanks!

I had a similar experience on my ozark. t was damp and rainy, and after I started it, it sounded like the starter was trying to engage, all on its own. Hasnt done it again. I was thinking it might be the rain/water getting into the handlebar switches and shorting things. I think when it gets warmer, im going to silcone caulk the area around the switches.

Thanks,
it did it again last night and I called the dealer and he told me to drop it off this morning. He said it was a stuck cylinoid. Who knows, I will post what it was when I get the bike back in case anyone else ever has this problem.

Like I said it was raining hard the whole way home so anything is possible. The noise starting as soon as I started it up. I drop it off in about an hour so I will let you know what the dealer says. He swears it is a stuck cylinoid.
