just find out what brand the carb is (Mikuni/Keihin etc.), then find out the model (TMX, VM/PWK, PW, etc.), then you have to find out what size it is (mm). then just look up those.
i just looked in Dennis Kirk and found 2 carb repair kits for the LT250R Quadracer 85-92.
there is one made buy K&L for 23.99 and one made by Moose for 10.95, but these will only work for stock LT carbs i'm assuming. I'm not sure about the stock carb for the 87 is but the manual for my 87 LT250R says it's a Mikuni either a 34 or 36mm but i think the 34mm was for the 85-86, and that is what i have on mine. My advice would be check a Clymer's Manual if you have one or just go to your nearest parts shop and most likely he/she can order you one from Parts Unlimited or something like that and save you money by not have to pay shipping and that plus they will know what carb it is supposed to have.
good luck

Unless your absolutley sure you need to rebuild the carb don't do it. Most of the time the needle is just wore out and needs to be replaced. I did that on my 87 and it made all the difference in the world. This was five years ago so I can't help you on the needle size..
