LT250r & Trx250r...compare the two for me.
#1
Hello all! I am wondering How big the differences are between the two. I know for racing everyone goes with the honda, but I'm not gonna race. How does the LT jump? How is the 2 stroke "hit" on the two? How does each ride? I know I can get an LT cheaper than a honda, so that's why I ask.
Thanks,
Jason

Jason,
In my mind, the LT is an excellent buy. However, in multiple categories the TRx is a better bike. Handling is much tighter, and the bike seems more balanced and stable in the air than an LT. Stock power is also better on a Honda, but the LT is not without it's good points. They are slightly longer than the TRx's, and this makes them seem more comfortable. In the air they are very comfortable, but a tad heavier in the rear. They have a good amount of power, and I never met a hill I didn't climb on my stock '86 LT. Stock suspension on the Honda's is better up front, though. Right now I have a "87 Lt250 with FMF, Boyesen reeds, RPM+2 swingarm and Eliminator+2 axle with a Works Duracross rear shock. It also has a power-valve in the .30 over engine. It has plenty of power and jumps extremely well. In fact yesterday I was outjumping a 400EX off a table-top by about 5 feet. They are very nice bikes. What you've owned previously will also affect your judgement. What have you ridden?
