Man, I thought you purchased that for your son. But I bet it runs pretty good with that exhaust. Actually I just took my daughters Z250 out to Redrock canyon for the day. I took that bike up some scarry hills (thinking I was on my Raptor) and made them !!! It was very surprising and loved riding that bike the whole day. Its a great trail bike and just puts up the hills. Riding up some rocky hills as well, tires started slipping and thought it was going back down the hill backwards but it hung in there and made it to the top and over. I was very surprised and my buddies where too. I just have been riding cuz my daughter complained of it locking up on her at Dumont. I havent had it do it since.
Nice looking bike.!!!

It's a "COMBO" bike for me and the wife. She's never ridden before, and I haven't ridden since I was 16 (now 30)So that's about as sporty as I could get w/out having a clutch on it in order for her learning experience to be a good one. So that's what I got. It fits like a glove! Perfect for what it's used for......WOODS!

yea the z250 is an auwsome bike but when i found out i could get a 300ex for only 600 dollars more i couldnt pass that up
Yeah but ...... have you rode a 300ex??? I had one for a year and from going to test drive a new 300ex vs a new z250 its way different in the dunes and trails in ride and comfort.

I think the answer for atvguy217 could possibly be: It depends on the rider.
Both are great on trails
We have a 300ex (14 yr. old) and also a LT230E (13 yr. old)which I would consider similiar to the z250.
Both have proved to be excellent machines.BUT, the 14 yr old wants a hand clutch and do wheelies etc. The 13yr. old wants the auto shift. He don't care at all to wheelie (not that the z250 cant, it's just different w/auto).
Both went up olds hill at Glamis, the LT had to take the long sloped side,,but it did make it!! The LT will not power paddles(IMO), the 300 loved them. I've read a post where this guy claims the Z250 will handle paddles, I have my doubts.I purposely ran bald tires on the LT in the sand.
Sorry didnt want to rant about sand, but did want to point out the power difference between the clutch and auto.
The LT (Z) "may" have a slightly smoother suspension.
The 300 is more powerful.
Both have good brake systems.
BTW: nice bike/photo's
