Default Thinking about an Eiger?

Hey guys, I just bought my wife a new Ozark and I was checking out the Eiger maybe for myself. What is the track record for the eiger? I havent read or seen anything about them performance or reliabilty wise. The salesman at the dealership said that the Eiger was Suzuki's biggest seller and he only had one left and was only getting two the entire next year because Suzuki shut down the plant because of a shortage on parts. I asked him the reason for a parts shortage and he kind of stumbled around the question. Just need an opinion guys.

You wont regret it man. I love mine and has been very reliable. Its quick (top speed 55mph with mine), good in mud, In/Out Lever 4WD works great, Hi-Low Range for pulling, and you wont beat the price. I love the look with the Ram Air loooking front end. Good luck with decision.

I agree with 587 except for the 'look' of the Eiger.

Compared to an Ozark or Vinson, the Eiger looks kinda boxish. 'Course, once you cover all of them with mud it really doesn't matter.
You'll not be disapointed with the Eiger, it's a quick reving light steering machine - definately on the sport side of sport/utility. If you ever need it, the low range is there for work.

I own a Eiger automatic, which I'm very happy with. Its not quite as a quick as the manual, but still a joy to ride. I personally agree that I like the look of the front with the truck like grill and brush guard that surrounds the headlights and grill. It even has a nice growl coming from the muffler. The engine braking is so good, sometimes I don't even need the brakes. I'm very happy with my purchase, it rides well and never feels tippy.

I think I have read every post about the Eiger and haven't seen one bad word about it. Someone posted a dealer selling Eigers for $4399, Thats a great price. A few years ago a 400 was considered a BIG machine and now it is a mid size but boy does it perform. I wasn't too happy about the cheese grater on the front, I would come home with mud from every hole I went thru. I put some diamond plate aluminum on the front and replaced the plastic CV guards with some I made out of diamond plate. You can see them at my pictures, click on the camera on the left. IT's a great machine. Eiger2, out.

Hey Don, I've got 320 miles on my 04 Eiger, it's a great machine. it will go as fast as i want to go. Handles great, and has enough power to go any place that i've taken it. I am going to replace the tires with something more aggressive. This is my first quad, and i feel it is a good choice, I don't see myself wanting something bigger any time soon. regor

I've put around 600 miles on my brothers automatic (his wife's quad, but she has to work usually when we go riding) and I love the damn thing. It is one comfy ride, and you can go pretty much anywhere in that torque-monster. I rode the manual and didn't like it as much, but both are great bikes. He really hasn't had any problems with them whatsoever. We ride with all sports and keep up pretty well most of the time. You will certainly not regret it.

Tkitna,
I have a 03 4x4 5sp with 1300 miles on it. I could not have asked for a better machine for its price. the people i ride with bought all of our machines within a month of each other. 2 of my friends bought polaris 330 4x4 the other on bought a 360 prarie. I paid $75 more for mine than the 330's and $200 less than the 360 and have better features than they have except "true 4x4". Truth be know, I have followed them and they have followed me none of us got stuck. Look at all the machines and pick the one that offers you the most bang for the buck. I found it to be the Eiger.

03 Eiger 4x4 5 sp K&N jet kit and Uni filter.

Hey Eigeraholic, I noticed you have a Uni/jet kit on you Eiger. Did it make a noticeable difference? I was looking at the filter/pipe/jet thing but have found no one that has done it yet.
