Default Thinking about an Eiger?

Polaris500HO4x4,
My buddy has a 500 ho also. On the gravel roads He is gone, I can keep him in site, but 5mph adds up read quick. We have found the Eiger to be more stable on the fast trail rides because of the SRA. It seems the height and the IRS makes him feel uncomfortable for fast trail riding. The last time we rode he went into a turn to fast (I think because I was pushing him to go) the IRS started to squat, he turned out of the turn into some small trees. I learned something new that day you can have 18 wheel drive but if only 1 tire is on the gound your not going to get out by your self.

My buddy has a500 too and I beat him ALL the time. Why? He can't ride.
He says the IRS makes him feel like he is going to roll over on hills. His quad is so much more capable than he is. The funniest tbhing i've seen was when he got a 4" tree stuck between the front wheel and his plastics on a hill and he kept gunning it . it looked like his quad was trying to rip it out of the ground, sorta like a junk yard dog trying to rip a bumber out of the ground with his mouth. Now he looks at hills and says "too extreme".

Its mostly rider. Pick your machine according to your skills and needs, Don't be an Ozzy.

Thanks for the spedo info. Mine will run 55,too.

Default Thinking about an Eiger?

I'll add another good review... I love my Eiger. I hadn't really considered it when I went to buy, but I really liked it after testing it out. My wife has a '03 Rancher, and I hate that thing (especially the goofy ESP shifting).

My eigher is a good ride for the fast woods trails that I run in.. good bottom end, pleanty of top end.

The good stuff: comfortable ride (I would have liked adjustable shocks, though), quick turning and very sporty feel to it (for a Ute), always starts right up (although a bit cold blooded), pleanty of power to pull things (I have a 1250 lbs trailer that it pulls around the yard just fine). I 've got 400 miles on it, and I've only done the reccomended maintenance on it.. no other work on it so far.

My complaints about it: The grill guard isn't very tough (my idiot friend bumped it into something and bent it a little, The cheapo stock tires (a thicker sidewall would make it even more stable than it is, and they don't protect the bead very well.. never rolled a tire off the bead, but I have had to break the bead to clean the trash out because fo small leaks), the headlights will not stay in adjustment (they end up pointing too far downwards) and the lack of aftermarket for it (there's lots out there if you want to make it a pimped out camo covered hunting rig, but not much for the powertrain).

You don't really need much more for it.
fmf pipe
jet kit
tires, but wear out the stockers first.
Check out tme little bumper mod I did at my pics. The headlights are a PIA. Im looking for some other lighting options but I don't want that pimp look either.

Thanks for all the reviews guys. I'm still looking around but the Eiger is at the top of the list as of now. More reviews are welcome.

tkitna, Just thoughtn I'd add my 2 cents. I bought an Eiger 04 a few months back and don't regret it. Easy starting, plenty of power and quick for a utility. The ride is very good and after riding alot of others I really think this one is best in its class......I'd would'nt be afraid to buy one I were you.
