150 Mile service
#1
If I don't get my service at 150 miles will that do irreversible harm, or can I go a little longer and have it done?? Any opinions would be welcome. Its just that I know I won't get a chance to go soon, but I certainly don't want to stop riding. Thanks

How hard do you ride it? If I were you I would definately get it in on time, I dont mess around with that stuff... you take good care of it and it'll take good care of you. Thats why you want to start planning on it early. If it's due at 150 you want to start thinking about making the appointment around 110 and figure on getting it there and done right before 150, thats just the way I am. You'll be safe if you go a little over, especially if you dont beat the $h1t out of it like I do mine every day.

If you can't get it in for service why don't you just do it yourself? Get that oilfilter off there- it's full of metal shavings from the initial breakin. Get some good oil in her too. It may seem like a big job to get to the filter but its a piece of cake. Take some time to check out your ride while some plastic is off and make sure everything is tight and that there are't any pieces of debris in spots where they shouldn't be. The more you work on it and check on it the more comfortable you will become with it and the longer it will last. Then it will be worth more when you trade it in on a Twin peaks (yellow Prairie 700). I know they do a lot more than change the oil but if you aren't going to take it in on time this should done. You don't want to be running around with that original oil for too long. I highly recomend the service. While yoe are there at the dealer order a service manual, this is the best way to keep your ride in shape. Also, you may want to get a couple extra plastic rivets that hold your plastic together, trust me, you WILL need some of these. Eiger2 out.

actually its a oil change and full check over on most machines on a very few its also a valve adjustment that is what you get when you get this service done the most important thing is the oil and filter. If you have to ride and dont want to do the service then do an oil change and then ride it at our dealership we recomend 10hrs not 150 miles on atvs and 600-1000 miles on motorcycles. so how many hrs does your machine have on it and what does your owners manuel say to have it done at?
