The King Quad also has an oil cooler, which the Quadrunner 250 does not. I don't think the power difference between the two is hardly noticeable.

A couple other differences: The 250 runs 22" tires in front as opposed to 24" on the KQ. The 250 weighs roughly 65 lbs. lighter than the KQ.

When i bought my KQ in June of 97 i also was looking at the 250(which is realy a 230).For the extra power i got the KQ and am very happy with it.It has not let me down yet .If you got the extra to spend get the King Quad, i dont think you will regret it.Which ever you get , enjoy. Bob

Actually the 250 is a real 250 (246cc) its the King Quad that's only a 280 not a 300. Just thought I'd clear that up. Both are awesome machines.

I have a KQ. My wife has 250 Quadrunner.
Yes, I can tell a power difference. The KQ
launches a lot harder, even though it's not that much bigger. They handle a lot different too. The 250 handles lighter and isn't as stable to me.

If you are going to be riding real slow, climbing trails, or in the mud, You'll want the oil cooler on the KQ, it'll extend engine life in those conditions, by keeping the oil from getting hot and breaking down.
