Thanks for those of you who answered my questions about 3 weeks ago. I went up to Kansas and bought a new 98 LTF500 for $5391 cash. I now have over 100 miles on it and all I can say is WOW! I had the chance to play in the snow yesterday on it. Much more fun with it vs. 2wd. It's still easier to get unstuck than my old 125's were years ago.

This thing needs a sixth gear. Lord knows the engine will pull it, but that would be flying. Anyways, just wanted to let you guys know.

Kyle

ktk... Good for you. You just bought a decent piece of machinery, I own the 2000 Quadrunner. ( It jumps pretty good for a 700lb Quad, If you don't already know.)

Don't forget to read your owner's manual. There's some good information in it, some of which will prolong the life of the quad. The mechanics where I bought my KQ recommended 300 mile oil changes.

about the 6th gear you wished for, if u increase trise size to 27" it makes a world of difference on thoe end...same as 6th gear, and the plus on top end doesn't effect bottom end a whole lot...enjoy your new machine

Congratulations ktk,

I know completely nothing about Suzuki but I can tell you they look like some really strong and well made bikes. Alot of good features. I hope you enjoy it in the many years to come. They have a little 84 Suzuki that runs around my house, I'm sure your's will last that long too. Only if you take care of it. C-ya.

I agree BigNasty. I test drove a Quadrunner before getting the Sportsman. It is one strong piece of quad. I know for a fact it will take more abuse than my quad with less maintenance, but I opted for the comfort and features. About the price....here in NJ, Suzuki isn't all that popular. New Quadrunners (500) don't go over $4900 without haggling the price down. I was really close to getting one but I couldn't live with full time 4wd (no donuts ) and 3 wheel 4wd (this mud sucks). I don't mean to offend anyone, the Quadrunner is a strong runner. Good luck on your purchase.
