Zilla stalled and wont start...
hey all,
I was riding my zil and it bogged down and then stalled, coulnt get it started for the life of me. what could be the problem. It was running rich especially in first and second gear. im running about 28:1 spectro synthetic blend in it. Should I try upping it to 32:1? The guy said he was running 20:1 who owned it before me but a lot of people told me thats not at all needed. Probably just carb jetting??? My buddy at 2-stroke performance is gonna run a leakdown test and jet it for me. Im real sh*tty with jetting, I understand it all conceptually but got a late start getting my fingers in there and with school I havent had enough time to tare my bikes down myself. I pulled the plug out and it was brown it didnt looked fowled after kicking it a good 40 times so i dont know....

Did you check your sparkplug? You might of flooded. I have that problem a lot with my snowmobile. I carry a lighter with me so when the plugs get messed up I can take em out and burn the gas off, and put them back in and it fires right up. If you try that it should at least get you started again, but I don't why it would be bogging down. I'm don't know anything about 2-strokes, I just know that my snowmobile wouldn't start after it bogged down because the plugs were wet.

Take out the plug, hook the wire back up to it, ground it on engine and kick it over. Don't hold the plug with your hand or you'll get a nice shock. If you've got a nice fat, blue spark, then your problem is in the carb.
