k guys lets clear this up. i didnt mean totalyl broken beyond use busted, poor choice of words. this is wut happends, after gettin outta first gear the entire quad shakes the faster u go the more it shakes. and my mechanic would never nickel and dime me . iv been goin to him since i bought my first snowmobile in 82. yes im going to sell it as is. either look for another lt for a reasonable price or go with a yfz or z400

 

Sounds to me like a bad tranny bearing. If it was the crank it would be bad all the time. Don't freak out so easy. Check the oil in the tranny and see what it looks like.

Holy crap, $1200 to fix a crank? My god you could replace it for half that. If you always pay that much for work done on your atv's, let me work on them [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

what was wrong with the crank? $1200? did that come with a new top end, rod, all bearings, etc?

 

Was that just to get the crank 'unbusted'? I got my crank rebuilt with a new rod, milled head, new top end, drain plug rethreaded, 3 shift forks, new bearings and seals, and everything reassembled for less than $900. Sounds fishy...

 

with the 1200 was new tires, douglas rims, and a new airfilter.
