ok, TxDoc2, My oringinal plan was too put bigger wheels & bigger tires on it to get rid of the clearance problem that I'm having.
But after consideration, I decided that it would take too much out of the power, like Bill was saying.. The fact that it involved a lot more cash didn't help either..

So, I just ordered a set of Vampires that are one size bigger than the stock tires.
25x9.5-11 on the front & 26x12-12 on the rear. I'm hoping this will solve my clearance problem in the mud, without losing too much power..

Thanks for the input though.

I also wanted to tell ecbaatz, that I wired that neutral relay to a toggle switch that I mounted on the side. It works great. It works factory until I engage the switch, then the neutral light comes on & it will crank in whatever gear it's in.

Thanks again for the information...

I have a 1997 Honda 300 FourTrax 4x4 that has probably the worst stock ground clearance of any 4x4 out there. I put on a Hoghlifter 2" lift that got the front end up, a set of 25x9.5 Vampires on 12" ITP steel wheels. I can now go where I never would have believed I could go. You may want to check with www.Highlifter.com and ask Scott if they make a kit for your rig. They are only a little over $100 per kit. Some kits give as much as 4" of lift. I also have a full length skid plate. And, it may be only my imagination, but it seems like I can slide instead of hang in some ruts that used to stop me. Sounds like you're on the right track. Good Luck.

Yeah, I was looking at some of the lift-kits they had. I'm going to have to try the tires alone for now. Christmas has hurt the
budget, and the Vampires I just ordered finished it off for a while.. I'm hoping the bigger tires will pick it up enough.
Thanks though..

I also have a King Quad that i was looking for more ground clearance.I have looked all over and then e mailed highlifter. At one point and time a lift was made for the King Quad.According to highthe guy at highlift, the lift kit rubbed, or caused rubbing.Plus they said it made the back of the bike look like a volkswagon. So they discontinued makeing a lift for the King Quad. I say what a shame. Just thought i would share that bit of imfo. Thanks, BOB

Thanks to the generosity and expertise of Eric "I am too humble" C. Baatz, and the mechanical genius of low- "I work for free" gear, I can now put it in diff. lock in ANY range, and start it in ANY gear!

I love it! Thanks guys!!!

SCMAN, I wouldn't go so far, as to call it work for free. It's more like, work on credit... For, someday, the favors could be called in... (grin)

I just have one question? Where is my cut on all this, SCMAN and LOWBOY.

I think I might be getting the short end of .....

I am glad you both enjoy them. When are the brake lights and backup light going to be installed?

Hey ecbaatz, I don't know about the brake lights, or the back up lights..
Apparently, I need to build a roll cage for it before I worry about anything else. Took it for a wild ride this Sunday.. Got to do some minor body work to the front fenders and the racks, before modifiying anything else..
